纽约，被称为“大苹果”的纽约。红发的堕天使在十分钟之前刚刚降临曼哈顿。他很高兴地意识到，这里的路人对他的略微不寻常的外貌毫不关心——他的装束似乎更适合十九世纪末，而他的头发是火红色的，两束微微翘起的头发状若恶魔之角。有点太过招摇，有些人可能会这样评价，但魔鬼本人对此十分满意。

New York. The “big apple”. The fallen angel landed in Manhattan just ten minutes ago. He is pleased to learn that no one here would bat an eye at his slightly unusual outfit - more fitting for the end of the 19th century maybe, and hairstyle - that of fiery red with two protrusions resembling the Devil’s horn. A bit on the nose, some may say, but he likes the way it is.

他需要寻求一个凡人的帮助——哪怕他并不愿意承认。但事情总还是要做的。那个预言——该死的预言......陈述着狩猎之神的重生。路西法在已经逝去了的岁月里确实曾经继承奥丁的位置领导了狂烈几千年，但他觉得累了——正如他觉得领导地狱十分无趣一样，于是世间再无狂猎。

He needs to enlist the help of a human - much to his dismay. But it nonetheless needs to be done. The prophecy - damn prophecies... announces the rebirth of the God of the Hunt. He was indeed the leader of the Wild Hunt for thousands of years to replace Odin, but then he grew tired of it - just like he did with ruling hell and, thus marked the end of the Wild Hunt.

预言里还有一条——他将回到地狱，再次统领黑暗。地狱的王位已经被他抛弃了很多年。他宁愿独自调查，可是他太过耀眼，圣水只是因他靠近便会热烈地沸腾起来——他没有办法隐藏自己。哪怕早已离开地狱，他仍然是地狱意志的化身。所以他需要帮助——一个可以隐隐于世间的，有能力的，可以相信的人的帮助。不过，或许最后一条并不适用于这个人选。

The prophecy states that he shall return to the throne that he abandoned oh so many years ago - to which he has no intention to return to. He would investigate by himself yet - he burns too bright. He cannot hide himself - holy water would boil just in his presence for although he had left hell, he still embodies its will. Therefore he needs someone, who can hide in plain sight, who is skilled and trustworthy - well maybe the third one won’t fit this particular candidate.

“约翰·康斯坦丁，”他呢喃道。

“John Constantine,” he muttered.
